- fund-raising performances at the Academy of Fine Arts
- an appearance as a guest choir with Elisabeth von Trapp at St. John’s
- Lynchburg and Farmville performances of "A Britten Christmas: A Ceremony of Carols and St. Nicolas” together with the choirs of St. John’s of Lynchburg and Johns Memorial Episcopal Church of Farmville, harp, and chamber orchestra
- a spring concert, “O Say Can You Sing”, presented at the Academy of Fine Arts
- a concert with the Jefferson Choral Society at the D-Day Memorial in Bedford on Memorial Day Weekend
- a concert for the Lynchburg Chapter of the American Guild of Organists in late May
- a special "by invitation" Flag Day performance in Washington, D.C. on the steps of the United States Capitol, which brought together 500 choir singers from across the country - with Cantate representing the Commonwealth of Virginia. The choral event, which was titled “Raise it up: Anthem for America”, was sponsored by the Kennedy Center and the Smithsonian Institution and streamed nationally. It formed part of the celebration of the 200th birthday of our national anthem. This picture shows the Cantate contingent and their singer-chaperones, together with one other group of singers, and conductors Eric Whitacre (next to Peggy Haas Howell) and Francisco J. Núñez (behind Peggy). Behind Eric Whitacre is Colonel Larry Sang, conductor of the U.S. Air Force Band. The photo is one of a series each featuring one or two of the participating choirs. It was taken indoors at the Kennedy Center, on the steps at the entrance to the Concert Hall, shortly before the performance. The event itself took place outside the Constitution Avenue entrance to the National Museum of American History, where the original Star-Spangled Banner is preserved.
